East Atlanta Village Farmer's Market

Greetings,

Check out this video about the farmer's market in East Atlanta. Look for EBT enabled Farmer's markets in your own city and let me know what you find. Also, the windows movie maker is what I used for this video. Its easy to use and has lots of features. Enjoy!

Hey Ruqiyyah,
I'm not sure if the farmer's market in Durham or Raleigh accepts EBT; I haven't had a chance to make it out unfortunately. However, I remember when the Winston Salem farmer's started to take EBT. I thought it was a great idea and a nice option for low income individuals to eat healthy and locally! I'm glad to see other cities are adopting similar practices.

Hi Laura,

I dont have any 2009 information on North Carolina, but in 2008, no farmers markets accepted food stamps. The full USDA report is found here for 2008: http://www.fns.usda.gov/fsp/EBT/ebt_farmers_markstatus.htm

On September 17th, 2009 they released the funding amounts with earmarks for EBT, but it doesn't say much about where you can use your EBT. In this breakdown they dont mention any earmarks for NC EBT funds either: http://www.usda.gov/wps/portal/!ut/p/_s.7_0_A/7_0_1OB?contentidonly=true&contentid=2009/09/0451.xml
